Some Greeks approach Philip with a simple request: "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." It is one of the most honest prayers in the Gospels - and one of the most universal. Every seeker, in every age, is making exactly the same request.

Jesus's response shifts to something unexpected: "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified." He speaks of a grain of wheat falling into the ground and dying - only then does it bear fruit. The path to glory, he tells us, runs straight through the cross.

We live in a culture that wants to skip to the fruit without the dying. But Jesus tells us the truth: new life always costs something. The seed that refuses to be buried stays alone. Don't be afraid of the hard places this week. The darkness doesn't have the last word.

Prayer: Lord, we wish to see you - really see you - not just in triumph, but in the places where you suffer and give. Walk with us into the harder days ahead. We trust that you are already there. Amen.
